This course is divided into two units:
- the theory or knowledge unit (Unit 1) and
- the practical unit (Unit 2) when the learners will be working face-to-face with the tutor either in-person or on Zoom.
For those of you who are keen to proceed as soon as possible (and seriously you could get Unit 1 done in the 4 -6 weeks prior to the 21st February start date for the practical sessions, if you want to wait until after Christmas!), we now have the first Unit 1 assignment live on the Learning Management System (LMS). This starts with information you will need about the 9 month gestation period and the changes that a pregnant woman makes in each of the three trimesters, what happens to their bodies and their emotions. The next module will be about how exercise and physical activity can be beneficial and how it can be adapted and developed for safe practice by the pregnant woman. The final e-learning module will focus on how to be professional as a specialist teacher for Antenatal Yoga students, learning how to liaise with other professionals and creating a marketing plan for your eventual classes. For most of these, there will be a video which has an interactive quiz which provides automatic formative assessment. Please be sure to finish the video and wait for it to say EXIT VIDEO or else it won’t let you go onto the next part of the e-learning.
At the end of each e-learning assignment, you will then provide written answers in an electronic workbook. The words need to be your own words and not plagiarised from any of the sources you have used to do your research. Please do not use GPT or any other AI software. If you paraphrase or directly quote from a source, you need to briefly cite your sources at the bottom of your answer. Please use SAVE AND RESUME LATER and request the email with the link to resume. You can come back to your answers later. When you are ready to share your work for initial assessment, DO NOT PRESS SUBMIT, but instead use SAVE AND RESUME LATER and when you get the link by email, forward it to your assessor. If one of your answers is incomplete, your assessor can refer it back to you for improvements, and you still need to be able to edit the work. Continue the process until your assessor says it is okay for you to press SUBMIT FINAL VERSION. After that point, you will not be able to edit it, the file becomes stored on your e-portfolio.
Then we start the practical Unit 2 course dates on Zoom on 21 February!
